Manager of Professional and Continuing Education

UIW Mission


Position Summary
The Manager of Professional and Continuing Education is responsible for ensuring that the Office of Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) programming aligns with and extends the mission of UIW to meet the professional development, continuing adult education, workforce development, and training needs of all sectors of the community and workforce including underemployed, unemployed, and underserved students. The Manager of Professional and Continuing Education reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and Outreach.

Essential Functions

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge in continuing education services.
  • Strong knowledge of current literature, trends, and developments in instructional technology.
  • Proficiency in establishing priorities for and developing continuing education programs.
  • Strong knowledge of program quality and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of Continuing Education programs offered through the Office of Professional Development.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective organization and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective program marketing materials.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Proficiency in evaluating instructor performance and program quality.
  • Ability to travel locally and within the state for outreach events.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications and CE software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Preferred and Required Qualifications



Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree.

Required Work Experience

  • Three (3) years of professional experience administering continuing education or related/relevant programs, to include evaluating effectiveness and making process improvements.
  • One (1) year of experience leading teams or serving in a supervisory role in an office setting.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) or more years of experience administering continuing education programs, to include evaluating effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Master’s Degree.



Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Work Hours
Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm with extended hours as needed, to include some evening and weekend work, to meet departmental goals.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs for set-up/tear-down at events.
  • Ability to push/pull event carts weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage potential and current students and attend meetings on and off campus.
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, and squat to retrieve promotional materials.
