The College of Education Studies at Wesleyan University seeks applicants for a part-time visiting instructor position for the 2020-2021 academic year. The College is an interdisciplinary academic unit offering undergraduates both a major and minor in Education Studies that is designed to help them look critically at educational institutions, practices, and thinking in the United States and abroad—from pre-k to the university level. The College emphasizes education’s philosophical, psychological, and sociological dimensions along with various tools for educational analysis. Practicum experiences are also integrated within a variety of instructional contexts. We welcome applicants with a broad knowledge of education prepared to teach one or two courses during the fall and/or spring semesters in one or more of the following areas: Race and Equity in Education; History of Education; Educational Policy; Curricular Design; or Educational Technology. In all cases, courses should pay particular attention to the ways in which the topic intersects with issues of equity and inclusion in education. Various course formats (e.g., in-person, distance, hybrid) will be considered.
