The De Long Lab (https://www.engr.colostate.edu/~skdelong/) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the field of microbiome science and emerging contaminants biodegradation. The postdoctoral scholar will work on an interdisciplinary National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded project focused on the identification of functional gene biomarkers for degradation of emerging contaminants in wastewater, using a novel, high-throughput biomarker development approach. The successful candidate will have experience with microbial culturing, application of molecular biology techniques and metagenomics. Experience with analytical chemistry and/or machine learning are also desirable. We are seeking an independent researcher with strong communication skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team.
Appointment length: The position is for one (1) year with the possibility of extension for up to three (3) years, depending on research progress and funding availability.
