Job Description

The Assistant Manager of Business Operations for BMS will assist with providing professional, comprehensive guidance and oversight in developing and executing human resources, financial, administrative and facility strategies, policies and procedures in support of the overall mission of BMS, ARBL, MCIN, CVMBS and CSU. The business activities involve complex, interdisciplinary teaching, research, service and outreach programs. The purpose of this position is to develop strong knowledge and understanding of the oversight environment and to develop best practices which enable effective and accurate management of administrative functions. This position will supervise the departmental administrative staff by overseeing distribution of duties, developing performance plans, and conducting mid-year and annual evaluations. Effective communication skills and supervision experience are required to articulate management plans, policies, and practices to the faculty, staff, students and other personnel. Successful execution requires extensive communication, coordination, and collaboration across many levels of CSU. Demonstrated leadership qualities and a broad scope of work are critical to the success. This position reports to the BMS Business Officer and assists with a broad range of business operations, and consults with, advises and recommends policies and processes while working closely with BMS, ARBL, MCIN and CVMBS leadership. This position entails on-site management across two locations on the CSU Main and Foothills Campuses.
