DIRECTOR/COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELATION-TRANSFER OUTREACH

Position Summary:
Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive recruitment strategy for prospective undergraduate transfer students and developing and maintaining a community college relations program with a focus on both main campus and global students. Includes identifying and developing opportunities for partnerships and strategic initiatives. Works with University Communications to develop admissions literature and communications related to transfer. Supervises assigned staff. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills and maintains positive relationships with internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Three years’ progressively responsible experience in admissions, student services, enrollment services or business operations environment that includes medium-to-large-scale event planning and management.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to nurture and maintain relationships with internal/external educational and business partners.
Knowledge of current trends in higher education admissions, marketing and public relations, transfer and articulation, and community college structure and mission.
Strong problem analysis and resolution skills. Demonstrated multi-tasking and organizational abilities.
Supervisory experience.
PC proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Experience working with transfer credit and transfer students at a 2- or 4-year institution.
Experience developing partnerships or agreements between 2- and 4-year institutions.
Strong working knowledge of Michigan community colleges.
Experience utilizing a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system.
Budgetary experience to include planning and monitoring a budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serves as an integral member of the Admissions leadership/management team. Participates in development of strategic plans and policies that support the mission, goals, and objectives of the department and Central Michigan University.
Develops a comprehensive transfer recruitment plan, detailing communication and engagement strategies designed to increase the enrollment of transfer students.
Oversees budgeted expenditures and exercises managerial oversight to ensure the successful implementation of key programs, events, and recruitment initiatives designed to impact enrollment behavior of students transferring to Central Michigan University.
Utilizes business intelligence dashboards to research and analyze recruitment data, track enrollment indicators, and create reports to measure outcomes and inform recruitment strategy.
Engages with internal and external stakeholders, related organizations, and government agencies that support transfer initiatives, identifies and builds relationships with community college partners and organizations serving transfer students across all recruitment territories, and provides direct supervision to two Assistant Directors.
Provides creative oversight for best practices in marketing to transfer student populations, participates in the development of publications, web pages, and digital communications designed to reach and engage transfer students, and monitors, measures, and performs analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of outreach strategies related to transfer enrollment goals.
Assists in the development of internal networks to provide an effective means of communicating transfer initiatives throughout the University, serves as the Admissions point of contact for transfer, and utilizes transfer equivalency software to monitor course catalog changes at the University as well as changes occurring at other colleges and institutions.
Initiates and supports the development of effective articulation agreements and transfer guides with community colleges.
Represents the Admissions Office by serving on various University committees and participating in appropriate state and national professional organizations.
Develops project timelines and tracks outcomes based on established targets for transfer markets and analyzes institutional recruitment data to make decisions to target recruitment efforts for successful enrollment outcomes.
Performs individual review of application documents for transfer applicants to make an admission decision.
Assists with meeting enrollment, recruitment, and student service objectives of the University by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
