Position Summary

The Assistant Director will provide direction and oversight of the Career Connected Learning (CCL) data and analytics and support initiatives strategically designed to support proper and complaint reporting of CCL activities of grants including the AEL grant and other CCL initiatives. Assists in achieving the organization's administrative, academic, student support and/or community relations goals. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College.  

  • Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College's current transition.  

  • Knowledge of Career Connected Learning programs and offerings.  

  • Ability to manage teams to achieve challenging deliverable objectives to meet the vision, mission, and goals of the organization/district.  

  • Ability to use independent judgement as well as ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.  

  • Ability to analyze multi-layered problems and propose solutions.  

  • Knowledge and experience deploying data-informed and results oriented programs and support.  

  • Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures that affect clients and/or employees, applying them fairly and consistently.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations; and apply best practices that support the overall vision, mission, and goals of the organization and/or district.

  • Knowledgeable about state reporting guidelines and processes within adult education.

  • Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to prioritize, plan and lead projects as assigned.

  • Ability to identify problems and determine the best solution, working to resolve the issue(s).  

  • Able to gather, compile, and analyze data/information and prepare reports as requested.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments and projects, create detailed actions plans, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.  

  • Able to develop and maintain consistent and positive customer relations, responding to internal/external customer inquiries in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Promote positive staff, customer, and community relations by communicating organizational and departmental plans and priorities on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field plus four (4) years of related work experience OR any appropriate combination of relevant education and experience which together total 8 years, may be substituted.  

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) 

  • Must have a current and valid Texas driver's license if traveling to off-site locations. 

  • Work hours may extend beyond the normal 8am to 5pm, Monday-Friday, workday. 

  • Official transcript will be required.   

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing guidance and leadership in planning the day-to-day activities of assigned organization.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to implement/improve processes and procedures in order to meet the mission and goals of the institution or organization.   

  • Provide oversight and ensure reporting processes are reliable and meet compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Assists in management of performance of grants including adult education and literacy and basic language development grants throughout Career Connected Learning.   

  • Assist in oversight and identification of grant funding streams, implementation of processes, and leads the data team in properly evaluating and communicating available funding streams for prospective students.   

  • Lead initiatives using knowledge and skills in process improvement, project planning, conflict resolution, team building, customer service, and data-based decision-making concepts.  

  • Collaborate with campus locations, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, state agencies, and community to ensure data reporting systems and processes allow for timely collection and reporting.

  • Manage quality assurance standards and procedures to ensure integrity of data.  

  • Research, gather, maintain, and analyze program data; develop strategies to solve problems and establish and evaluate improvements to achieve organizational goals.

  • Provide internal and external audit reports and assist with budget management and special funding requirements reporting for all Dallas College AEL college grant programs.  

  • Supervise grant documents and data team through state data systems.

  • Measure performance through achievement of outcomes and makes recommendations as needed.  

  • Stay abreast of changing state and federal regulations specific to adult education and inform and direct the district programs to remain compliant.  

  • Oversee the management of Admissions Connect, Salesforce CRM tool, and database of Teams and Twist.  

  • Complete reports as requested.  

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients. 

  • Supervise full-time staff. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

  • Complies with Dallas College accessibility policies and federal accessibility laws.  

  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
