Assistant Professor, Educational Counseling
Job Description Summary:
The LaFetra College of Education (LFCE) at the University of La Verne invites applications for a 10-month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor of Educational Counseling. The Educational Counseling Program emphasizes school counselor training with concentrations in a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (California), Spanish Bilingual Bicultural Certification (SBBC), Social Justice in Higher Education (SJHE) and School and Family Based Counseling (LPCC license-eligibility).
The Educational Counseling program is seeking a candidate with a strong emphasis in diversity, social justice, and advocacy as well as knowledge in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive school counseling programs. Candidates must have practical knowledge in the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model and Ethics Code.

Specific Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field
- Valid CA PPS Credential – School Counseling
- 3 – 5 years school counseling experience in PK-12
- Experience in teaching and/or working with adult learners
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Education or related field
- Providing school counseling and/or school psychology services to students in an urban setting
- Bilingual in Spanish, or other languages common in California’s student demographics
