Position Description

The Senior Administrative Assistant provides a wide array of administrative support to the Senior Director and the Indigenous Peoples Institute. This role will help to ensure effective operations, policy management, and procedures of the Indigenous Peoples Institute in a fast paced and confidential work environment, with broad internal and external stakeholders. This work includes supporting the retention, programming, and initiatives of our Indigenous students and their communities. This is an on-campus position and reports to the Senior Director for the Indigenous Peoples Institute.

Duties

  • Responsible for providing critical administrative support to the Senior Director and the Indigenous Peoples Institute, including receptionist/front desk duties.
  • Responsible for scheduling appointments, coordinating supporting meetings, and handling related arrangements including logistics/travel.
  • Other tasks include e-mail correspondence, preparing internal/external memos, reports, maintain documents for easy retrieval, and responding to program inquiries and incoming requests, with timely follow up.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to maintaining website, ordering and maintaining supplies inventory, and supporting division events as needed, etc.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of previous administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Must possess attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment. Advanced skills in calendaring and correspondence. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and a commitment to outstanding customer service. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Compensation at a Glance:

Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
