The University of Puget Sound is hiring a Paralegal and Policy Director to join our University Counsel! The Paralegal and Policy Director ("PPD") manages a wide range of complex administrative operations in support of the work of the Division of General Counsel and Risk Management ("Division" or "GCRM"). The Division has three other positions: the Vice President and General Counsel, Chief of Staff, and Board Secretary ("Vice President"), the Chief Risk Management Officer and Assistant General Counsel ("CRMO/AGC"), and the Executive Assistant.

-Positions that work less than .75 FTE (1,560 hours per year) do not qualify for long-term disability or education benefits.

-Temporary positions that work at least .50 FTE (1,040 hours per year) will be eligible for benefits.

To be considered for this role, a candidate must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus at least three years of increasingly responsible legal support or paralegal experience; experience in a law office, higher education, or similarly complex organization required.
Paralegal certificate or paralegal experience required.
Demonstrated ability to creatively, effectively and independently manage changing priorities and multiple tasks in deadline-driven, high-volume, fast-paced office environment.
An ability to respectfully work, communicate, and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $36.06 to $36.06 per hour. Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
