Job Description

Position Summary

Baltimore City Community College is searching for an Assistant Professor in Nursing (Mental Health). This position requires expertise in teaching theory and clinical courses in Mental Health. The selected candidate will teach 15 credit hours per semester. Responsibilities include maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; training faculty in new curriculum as needed; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face to face (day or evening), hybrid or online, and are subject to change as needed.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Three years of experience teaching in a college setting.
  • Two years of recent hands on clinical experience in medical /surgical patient care area.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or another learning management system (LMS).

Position-Specific Requirements:

  • Licensure with an active unencumbered RN License in the State of Maryland, or licensure eligibility.
  • AHA CPR certification, current.
  • Yearly PPD (tuberculin) testing
  • Immunizations, drug screening and background checks as required by college and clinical agency
