D’Youville’s Patricia H. Faculty members in the School of Nursing are primarily responsible for the implementation of educational programs through classroom teaching, lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Individuals hired into Clinical and Tenure track positions within the School of Nursing are expected to be able to teach in any of these capacities. Appointment includes classroom instruction in a variety of teaching/ learning modalities directed at meeting student individual learning styles. These include but are not limited to lecture, lab instruction, on-line and hybrid formats. Clinical supervision includes guiding students to deliver quality nursing care in a variety of health care settings. To maintain the academic excellence that keep D’Youville at the forefront of nursing education excellence, faculty are expected to actively participate in course and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Master of Science degree from a nationally accredited School of Nursing (required). Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNSc, DNP) preferred.
Active, unencumbered licensed in the state of New York.
National certification in the field of specialty is required when available.
