GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The research librarian provides research assistance to students, faculty, and community members in person and online. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of the library’s research guides (LibGuides). Provides library instruction in person and online for dual credit students. Coordinates and promotes the embedded librarian program, including maintaining relevant records and statistics. Participates in Qualitative Research Team activities and in library survey and assessment activities. Offers and assists in implementing ideas that enhance the effectiveness of library resources and services. Serves as a library liaison for designated academic areas, including outreach to faculty for their suggestions and requests. Attends conferences, workshops, and other events for professional development. Models and encourages information literacy principles and best practices. This position reports to the Librarian/Professor, Library Sciences, and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master’s Degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university with major coursework in library and/or information science.
Experience: Some professional work experience.
