Job Summary

The Supplemental Instruction Coordinator is a proactive and innovative professional with a passion for education and a dedication to improving student academic performance through peer-led learning initiatives and collaborative educational techniques. This role requires a highly collaborative individual who will engage closely with university community members across various campuses to foster a unified and effective institution-wide approach. Charged with overseeing the Academic Success Center's Supplemental Instruction programs and services, the Coordinator is responsible for the efficient organization and oversight of these services, aiming to significantly enhance the educational experience of students by employing and promoting collaborative learning methodologies.

The Supplemental Instruction Coordinator consistently exhibits service, collaboration, and excellence as championed by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Student Success.

This position is time-limited and 100% sponsored-funded; therefore, continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant or contract funding.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Associate Director with strategic planning and implementation of high-quality academic support initiatives; identifies and incorporates best practices for student success
  • Leads the administration, development, coordination, and delivery of Supplemental Instruction across the institution
  • Directly supervises graduate assistants and student workers, including hiring, training, development, and evaluation
  • Leads outreach and marketing for Supplemental Instruction to the campus community
  • Collaborates with academic departments and units across campus; maintains liaison relationships
  • Leads ongoing assessment initiatives for Supplemental Instruction, including the development and administration of assessment plans
  • Collaborates as a member of the Academic Success Center team in the delivery of academic support programming
  • Provides support in representing the department at university events, including but not limited to orientation, open house, department and university committees


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Master's Degree

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of experience participating in or facilitating peer-led learning initiatives where collaborative educational methods are utilized to enhance student comprehension and academic performance


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working with students in academic support
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience developing and implementing a Supplemental Instruction program


Proposed Salary

$44,400 - $52,015

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
