Job Description

Executive Director, Office of Corporate Engagement

Research and Economic Development

Job Number: 986607

Kent Campus – Kent, OH

Kent State University seeks a strategic leader and dynamic corporate engagement champion to build and oversee its new Office of Corporate Engagement. The new executive director will assume the position at an exciting time, as Kent State continues to solidify its place as an R1 top-tier research university (status awarded in 2022). The office will serve as the front door for corporate partners, aiding them in navigating the university and quickly connecting them with the appropriate resources that can respond to their needs. Given the university wide scope of the effort, the office will serve as a hub for corporate engagements that interfaces with decentralized staff across the university to respond to industry needs and maximize university resources.

The executive director of corporate engagement will have primary responsibility for the design, implementation, and stewardship of a long-term corporate engagement strategy that supports the university’s corporate engagement needs and identifies new opportunities. Further, the director will oversee and build out the Office of Corporate Engagement staff. The Executive Director will be responsible for the development of collaborative proposals in the areas of research and philanthropy. Further, in establishing strong internal processes, the executive director will be responsible for the expansion of corporate engagement, which should impact the University by providing more opportunities for students, financial research support for faculty, and financial support for institutional programs. This position will require in-person work, but flexible and remote arrangements are possible.
