The Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position. All research areas will be considered. We especially seek applicants who will build on our strengths in catalysis/separations/energy, in computational science and machine learning, synthetic biology and/or cellular engineering.
With twenty tenured and tenure-track faculty, the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is a collaborative, innovative department with leading expertise in emerging areas including engineering approaches to understand disease, immunoengineering, targeted drug delivery, artificial intelligence, soft robotics, and sustainable energy. The department has significant representation in major research centers and institutes on campus including the Institute for NanoBioTechnology (INBT), the Maryland Area Research Computing Center (MARCC), and the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI). We have large, vibrant educational programs at the undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. levels.
As part of the Whiting School of Engineering, you will become a part of a unique research and educational environment with over 300 full time tenure-track, research, and teaching-track faculty in nine academic departments with a total annual research budget of over $200 million. Faculty collaborate frequently with scholars in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Applied Physics Laboratory, Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. The Whiting School has more than 1800 undergraduates and 1000 full time MS and PhD students.
