Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The IET specialist will coordinate and create IET classes for Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) participants. The IET specialist will help develop case management and referral procedures with the Workforce Solutions centers, vocational rehabilitation, and other employment services for AEL participants in accordance with the Workforce Integration Initiative. Other responsibilities include, class instruction, both remotely and face-to-face, proctoring remote tests using the approved AEL assessments, monitor IET classes on a regular basis to determine progress towards the objectives and goals of the class, follow-up with AEL participants during the program and one year after exiting the program. This position receives general direction from the Project Director of Adult Education & Literacy and exercises no supervision. Position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon continued grant funding. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: More than one year of teaching experience in higher education or adult education.
PREFERRED QUALIFCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Texas Teacher Certification and experience in using virtual learning platforms.
