Job Summary

We are currently seeking talented and motivated individuals to join CAR-T core at the Georgia Cancer Center of Augusta University. The successful candidate should possess hands-on experience in oncology, cell biology and immunology, in particular TCR-T/CAR-T cell biology. The candidate will be able to contribute to the effort for developing T cell therapy platform, building and optimizing cell-based immunoassays to characterize and assess TCR-T/CAR-T cell functions. Experience with TCR-T/CAR-T cells is preferred. The candidate is expected to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, perform experiments, organize and analyze results, communicate effectively and present findings in team meetings.

 



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

 

  • Coordinate lab tasks and operations, including ordering, inventory, and other essential functions.

     

  • Operate routine experiments in vitro, such as cell culture, cell count, cell resuscitation and cryopreservation,

     

    separation of PBMC, PCR and flow cytometer, etc.

     

  • Performing routine vivarium procedures such as weight monitoring, tumor measurements, IP/SC injections,

     

    blood draws, etc.

     

  • Performing in vivo imaging using IVIS or similar system(s).

     

  • Processing of mammalian tissues and biofluids for downstream analysis.

     

  • Carefully record the experimental process and data and submit timely reports to supervisor.

     

  • Analyze, summarize, and report experimental data and relevant documents to supervisor.

     

  • Be able to fulfill other job-related tasks assigned by supervisor.

     



Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.

 



OR

 



Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years experience in a research, basic science or clinical setting particularly clinical trials research.

 



Preferred Qualifications

Experienced with animal handling is preferred.

 



Hands-on experience working with human primary T cells and CAR T cells is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

 



Detail-oriented with strong organizational and critical thinking skills

 



Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

 



Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

 



Pay Grade: R9

 



Salary Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $17.42

 



Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
