Major/Essential Functions

The Assistant Director assists the GME team with the execution of processes and procedures related to all aspects of the management and administration of the Graduate Medical Education department, including:
Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of new and existing GME and Departmental initiatives:

  • Provide administrative oversight of new project initiatives that are proposed at GMEC or through SOM administrative directives
  • Serves as liaison between GME and other departments on projects and initiatives
  • Serves as project manager to include: planning, organization, collaboration, reporting, etc.
  • Provides appropriate leadership and guidance to all partners and stakeholders

Responsible for the routine evaluation and monitoring, data collection/dissemination, and organization of all institutional GME files, including but not limited to:

  • Leading the GME team on the management of resident/fellow exits and off-boarding
  • Maintain and organize all resident/fellow files
  • Complete Exit Checklists/Evaluations
  • Collect training verifications
  • Adhere to institutional and ACGME file retention policies

Assist with residency and fellowship program evaluation processes, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborates with GME leadership to ensure continuous process improvement
  • In conjunction with program leadership, compile and evaluate necessary data for annual evaluation processes
  • Maintain institutional dashboard

Other duties as assigned
 

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job-related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
