Job Summary
The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is currently recruiting Part-Time Instructors (Dual Enrollment – Multiple Disciplines Available) for Chabot College. The college is looking for part-time faculty members across various disciplines to teach in the Dual Enrollment program. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications required to teach in the following areas:
• Anthropology
• Business
• Communication Studies
• Counseling
• Early Childhood Development (ECD)
• Engineering
• Ethnic Studies
• Health
• Kinesiology
• Psychology
• Sign Language, American
• Sociology
The Chabot College Dual Enrollment program provides high school students with access to college-level courses and the ability to earn college and high school credits simultaneously. The program is designed to help students get a head start on their college education with time and money savings. We strive to provide opportunities for students to develop college-ready mindsets with paths to complete a certificate/associate degree, transfer, or join the workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach Early College Credit/Dual Enrollment courses at participating high school campuses.
2. Develop and evaluate curricula appropriate to the different learning needs of students and develop student learning outcomes.
3. Foster an engaging classroom atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
4. Implement and keep updated with contemporary teaching methods and technologies suitable for a diverse student body.
5. Remain informed about the latest standards and regulations set by state accrediting agencies for the program and its curriculum.
6. Offer guidance to students through scheduled office hours.
7. Work collaboratively with fellow program faculty and staff to employ assessment strategies aimed at optimizing instruction and enhancing student achievement.
8. Fulfill additional responsibilities as outlined in the contract, collective bargaining agreement, and institutional requirements promptly and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications:

Anthropology
Master's in anthropology or archaeology OR Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in sociology, biological sciences, forensic sciences, genetics or paleontology OR the equivalent.
Business
Master's in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureaus (LL.B.) OR Bachelor's in economics with a business emphasis AND Master's in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureaus (LL.B.) OR the equivalent.
Communication Studies
Master's in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English OR the equivalent.
Counseling
Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, OR the equivalent. (NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)
Early Childhood Development (ECD)
Master's in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies or family and consumer studies OR the equivalent.
Engineering
Master's in any field of engineering OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry or geology OR the equivalent. (NOTE: A bachelor's in any field of engineering with a professional engineer's license is an alternative qualification for this discipline)
Ethnic Studies
Master's in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native American Studies, or American Indian Studies OR Master's in Ethnic Studies OR the equivalent.
Health
Master's in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition or public health OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in any biological science OR the equivalent.
Kinesiology
Master's degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND Master's degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
Psychology
Master's in psychology OR Bachelor's in psychology AND Master's in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience or social work OR the equivalent.
Sign Language, American
Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
Sociology
Master's in sociology OR Bachelor's in sociology AND Master's in anthropology, any ethnic studies, social work or psychology OR the equivalent.
Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications
1. Experience working in a K-12 environment with racially minoritized, low socio-economic students.
