Job Summary

The duties include but are not limited to: providing individual, couples, group counseling and crisis intervention to

 

students; treatment plan development, case management, care coordination, client advocacy, crisis intervention, consultation and administration, and interpretation of assessment instruments. Maintain adequate and appropriate documentation of counseling records.

 



 



Responsible for development, delivery and assessment of new and existing mental health outreach/prevention programs that promote and provide practical effective education and skills for students through workshops, presentations, and other engagement events.

 



 



Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment. Collaborating with other campus departments/offices, campus committees and student organizations to provide joint programming for students or to coordinate client care. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director. These may include front desk and phone coverage, campus training and possible outreach to community organizations and groups.

 



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 



 

 

  • Provide individual/group counseling to students to include administration and interpretation of assessment instruments, treatment plan development, case management, care coordination, client advocacy, and clinical consultation. Provide crisis intervention services. Maintain adequate and appropriate documentation of counseling records.

     

  • Develop and conduct psycho-educational workshops, class presentations, and other outreach programs to address preventative and developmental needs of students. Collaborate with other campus departments/offices, campus committees and student organizations to provide joint programming for students. Provide training to appropriate campus organizations, faculty, and staff regarding relevant mental health issues of college students.

     

  • Attend continuing education programs required for professional license and certification maintenance and maintain best practices of current professional trends for university counseling centers.

     

  • Additional job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     



Required Qualifications

Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited college or university. Licensed or license eligible in the state of Georgia as a licensed professional counselor or licensed clinical social worker.

 



Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working in a university counseling center setting.

 



Experience providing group and couples counseling.

 



Experience and proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health disorders.

 



Experience providing emergency services and treating more severe mental health concerns.

 



Prior clinical experience and experience with a diverse clinical caseload.

 



Experience providing outreach presentations on mental health topics relevant to university students.

 



Commitment to a multicultural counseling orientation and understanding of mental health needs of minoritized individuals and communities.

 



Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written skills

 



Knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

 



Excellent analytical, organizational, customer service and communication skills. Detail-oriented.

 



Ability to maintain confidentiality

 



Shift/Salary/Benefits

*This position is a limited term position (estimated time frame no more than 3 years).

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

 



 



Pay Grade: 15

 



 



Salary Minimum: $38,913 - Midpoint: $52,533

 



 



Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

 



 



The primary work location for this position is within the Augusta University Medical Center or other Augusta University Health System Clinic Space and is subject to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services guidelines. The selected candidate will be required to provide proof of COVID vaccination or an approved exemption.
