The CTE Coach mentors, guides, and empowers underrepresented students – including women – in Career and Technical Education (CTE) fields.
This is accomplished by an “intrusive” coaching model, which entails frequently meeting with students and utilizing various activities and assessments to help them develop relevant skills sets and/or to determine appropriate support resources; conducting outreach to schools and other resource centers within Harford County; developing and implementing a community-based mentorship program; hosting events and professional development opportunities for students in the program; serving as an advocate for these students to reduce systemic barriers; and continually assessing the effectiveness of relevant retention initiatives.
This is a grant-funded position lasting approximately 40 weeks.
