JOB TITLE: Accounts Resolution Specialist
FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt, Hourly
DEPARTMENT: Business Office
REPORTS TO: Associate Vice President for Finance and Controller
JOB STATUS: Full-time (37.50 hours/week)
LOCATION: River Forest Campus/some remote
DATE AVAILABLE: Immediate opening
 
PRIMARY PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The Accounts Resolution Specialist will play an integral role in resolving outstanding accounts receivable balances, and will support some areas of Accounts Payable. In conjunction with the Associate Director of Accounts Receivable (ADAR), the Accounts Resolution Specialist will work to reduce accounts receivable balances, and will do so by managing, collecting, updating and moving tuition accounts along the collection life-cycle. Management of tuition accounts include regular communication and monitoring. The Accounts Payable support will include check distribution, and vendor verification and update.  
  
JOB COMPONENTS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accounts Resolution Specialist will have the following duties:
 
  • Research and resolve past due tuition accounts
  • Assist with reducing Accounts Receivable balances overall
  • Generate aging reports and work in collaboration with team to reduce receivables
  • Communicate with students via written letters, phone, email, text messages or in person
  • Monitor past-due activity and provide good follow-through
  • Keep account notes up to date
  • Devise an effective plan of ongoing monitoring of accounts throughout the cycle
  • Communicate effectively policies around tuition accounts
  • Suggest accounts to the ADAR for external collections
  • Manage Accounts Payable back-end (check collate, distribute and file)
  • Manage new vendors verification and update vendor accounts to Jenzabar
  • Attend trainings and meetings as necessary
  • Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned

REQUIRED//MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree
  • 2 or more years of experience in managing accounts or projects
  • Must exhibit good professional customer care and service
  • Must possess strong attention to details
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and manage time and deadlines
  
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment 
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word 
  • Accounting major or adequate experience
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or collections experience is a plus
  • Jenzabar experience
