The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute (STI) at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Research Assistant Professor to provide study design and analytical support to clinical research related to transplantation. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree, post-doctoral experience in clinical research, and proficiency in common statistical programs (SAS, SQL, R, SPSS and MATLAB). Experience in transplantation research with an understanding of transplantation-related terminology is a plus. Experience analyzing large datasets is also preferable. The appointee will be expected to engage in active collaboration with both basic scientists and clinicians within the STI and the university at large. The faculty member will also work to support the expansion of clinical research objectives at the institute including grant writing, publication of research findings, oversight and mentoring of staff, fellows and students.
Candidates should possess a PhD or DrPH in epidemiology, biostatistics or a related field and have a demonstrated record of success evidenced by publications in peer reviewed journals. Candidates with a PhD in a clinical/scientific field or an MD with a biostatistics or epidemiology related MS will be considered.
