MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST I
The Maintenance Specialist I position is a full-time career service position. The Maintenance Specialist I will participate in a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance tasks to insure the operation of equipment on campus. The successful candidate will perform work in accordance to established codes, policies, and procedures; conduct inspections of assigned areas to insure completion of work assignments; estimate material and labor hours; order supplies and materials; maintain appropriate records; and perform preventive maintenance on an established schedule. This position requires availability to work flexible hours as needed and is primarily located on the Pensacola Campus but may be assigned to other campus locations. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and two years’ experience or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical; documented training and experience in maintenance and repair work; ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints; ability to work from a bucket truck at heights of 30 feet; and a valid driver’s license are required. Successful results of a background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience with digital control systems, and any industrial/commercial experience.
ANNUAL SALARY: $24,150.00 ($12.34/hour)
