Wesleyan College invites applications for a three-year visiting assistant professorship in history, to start August 2021. Minimum
qualifications included a Ph.D. in history with a primary focus in African American history or the post-colonial African diaspora
experience, and a strong commitment to undergraduate instruction and research. Candidates with a demonstrated interest in women's history
and working and teaching within an interdisciplinary department are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be able to
teach four to five courses per year in support of the College's History, Politics, and Global Affairs major, as well as courses in the
general education program. The successful candidate is also expected to work for the College's Center for Social and Racial Equity by
offering and coordinating programming on African American history with a focus on reparative justice in the US South. We are particularly
