Youngstown State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Health and Human Services. As a member of the academic leadership team, the selected individual will provide insightful and innovative leadership developing strategies and tactics that support achieving the goals of the Plan for Strategic Actions to Take Charge of Our Future. The dean leads a College with departments of and programs in criminal justice and forensic science, health professions, human ecology, kinesiology and sport science, military science, nursing, physical therapy, and social work, across associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Having arrived in June 2019, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Brien Smith has engaged deans and chairs in conversations related to an evolving Plan for Strategic Actions , created momentum gainers in the areas of student success including degree progress and completion, alignment of resources with goals and strategies, and developing an academic program effectiveness and enhancement initiative to assure the degree programs are relevant to the workforce needs of the region and have high value given the educational experiences provided by the academic programs.
