The Major Gift Officer (MGO) is a visible member of the Development and Alumni Engagement team who serves a critical role as an ambassador for the College, building strong and sustained relationships with constituents, including alumni, parents and friends. The focus is on securing major gifts for the Brilliant Future Campaign ($25,000 and up), one-time and/or ongoing gifts to the North Central College Fund and planned/estate gifts. With an energized alumni base and the College’s strong history of fundraising achievement, the successful candidate will thrive in a goal-oriented and team-focused environment. The successful candidate will work with an assigned portfolio of donors to obtain major gifts and planned/estate gifts for the College’s Brilliant Future Campaign. This candidate should cultivate, negotiate, close, and finalize the terms of new gifts and/or planned/estate gifts, with the advice and input of development and administrative colleagues at the College. They should work with College representatives including faculty and staff to move prospects toward a major gift through individual meetings, phone calls, and written correspondence. The Major Gift Officer will have autonomy in executing specific fundraising projects; including active participation and management of assigned tasks relating to the Brilliant Future Campaign, responsible for growing and implementing additional giving efforts; develop, organize, manage and implement short and long-range fundraising plans, goals, and strategies, all aimed at increasing giving, participation and involvement from these constituencies.
