The School of Education is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and skilled leader who can direct, manage, and support the School Counseling Master of Education (M.Ed.) program. The individual must have experience in leadership, the professional preparation of high-quality school counselors, and personal scholarship in the field of school counseling. In addition, the candidate should have a proven record of successful teaching at the graduate level using various teaching modalities (hybrid and online). Scholarly activities and research that support the candidate's knowledge base in order to be a more informed professor and student advisor is desirable. Opportunity exists to lead faculty or student groups in research projects. This is a full-time, tenure track position in the School of Education beginning July 1, 2020. Essential Functions: Teach 9 credits per fall and spring semesters of graduate level courses (3-credit course release). Direct, manage, and support the 48-credit Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree program. Recruit, support, and supervise adjunct instructors. Teach at the Lakewood campus and at multiple off-site locations. Teach in multiple modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online). Assess teaching effectiveness and the outcomes of courses taught regularly and make improvements as needed. Actively lead, participate and collaborate with faculty colleagues in departmental functions including program/curricular development, assessment, and accreditation. Actively support students through advisement, mentoring, and student-related activities. Pursue scholarly research activities. Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction. Perform other related duties, as assigned by the Chair and Dean.
