Description: The Department of Philosophy and Religion at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa invites applications for
a Visiting Assistant Professor of Religion. This visiting faculty position is renewable annually for up to 3 years. The successful
candidate will have primary expertise in Religious, Christian and/or Islamic Ethics or an adjacent field and be deeply conversant with
theologies, movements and traditions that bear on relationships between religion and contemporary U.S. civic life (womanist thought,
feminist and queer theologies, post-colonial theories, Black U.S.-American religion, religion and politics, etc.). We welcome applications
from candidates pursuing interdisciplinary engagement. We are a small, collegial department committed to excellent teaching and innovative
