Assistant Professor School of Accountancy Southern Illinois University Carbondale The School of Accountancy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for one tenure track assistant position beginning August 16, 2020. General Information: The Southern Illinois University Carbondale College of Business and School of Accountancy are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB, visit the website at http://www.aacsb.edu ) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We have approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. We offer Bachelor of Science undergraduate academic degree programs in our departments of Management, Finance, Marketing and our School of Accountancy. We offer graduate academic degrees in Master of Business Administration, Master of Accountancy, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. Please visit our website at http://www.business.siu.edu . The University is located in Carbondale, Illinois approximately one hundred miles southeast of St. Louis, Missouri. The University has an average enrollment of approximately 14,000 students. Qualifications: All areas of research and teaching interest will be considered, but preference will be given to individuals with expertise in Financial Accounting. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in accounting or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution at the effective date of appointment, and applicants must provide evidence of a strong commitment to scholarly research and quality teaching. If all requirements for the Ph.D. have not been completed by August 15, 2020, one-year term appointment at the rank of Assistant Lecturer at a lower salary, will be offered. Professional certification is preferred. Description of Duties: Research - Maintain an active program of research publishable in leading academic journals. Teaching - Includes undergraduate and/or graduate teaching responsibility in individual's specialization. Typical teaching load for research-active faculty is six hours (2 courses) per semester. Service - Participate in Department, College and University and professional or community service as a representative of the School of Accountancy.
