Dr. Michele Ver Ploeg in the Departments of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences and Director of the Food and Health Policy Institute (FHPI) at The George Washington University is recruiting a post-doctoral scientist with expertise in research on food security, food consumption and the food retail environment, and on food and nutrition assistance programs. The research focuses on how the food retail and policy environments impact food and nutrition outcomes. The post-doctoral scientist will be responsible for leading data analyses and supporting the development of new research projects focused on how consumers with different personal and neighborhood resources are differentially impacted by the food retail environment—focusing on characteristics like age and mobility; the race and ethnicity of each household relative to their neighborhoods, and cities and or those in the poorest food environments.
