Director, Transfer, Articulation and Career Alignment

The Director of Transfer, Articulation and Career Alignment directs, manages, and provides leadership for program alignment in the Division of Learning in the area of transfer services while collaborating with faculty to develop programs and courses that align with industry/employment needs within the community. The Director of Transfer and Articulation is responsible for all activities, processes and systems linkages/liaisons functions both internally/externally related to postsecondary articulation and instructional partnerships between postsecondary institutions. The Director of Transfer and Articulation serves as a contributing member of College's Educational Policies and Curriculum Committee and also collaborates with the Director of Special Projects to integrate prior learning assessment in relevant academic programs. The Director advises the Associate Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Learning on all articulation and transfer matters.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and assists the institution with achieving its strategic priorities related to developing and maintaining internal and external partnerships and meeting the community needs. Organizes the college’s membership and liaison with related professional communities including chambers of commerce and business associates. This includes collaborating with faculty and department chairs/directors to develop and maintain viable advisory boards to consult with faculty on curricular development aligned with the employment needs of the community.
Collaborates with faculty and staff to ensure academic programs and courses transfer well and support bachelor's degree programs as appropriate while also supporting student academic and career goals. The Director sits on the Educational Policies and Curriculum Committee and actively contributes to the direction and leadership of this committee while serving as a transfer resource. Evaluates curriculum to determine course and program equivalencies while staying abreast of curricular changes. Oversees and manages the college's transfer and articulation website.
Provides leadership and direction to develop and monitor instructional pathways, articulation agreements and memoranda of understanding. Expands outreach and identifies articulation opportunities with four-year institutions and evaluates the efficacy of proposed College articulations. Facilitates faculty discussion, articulation agreements and develops a process for on-going review to insure accuracy through revision and new program opportunities. Manages the implementation of approved articulations and disseminates agreements and information to all appropriate personnel and stakeholders.
The Director collaborates with chairs, directors and deans to identify which programs should consider prior learning for students to apply to programmatic progress at the college, while providing guidance and support to chairs and directors in these efforts. The director works with surrounding community businesses to seek and develop additional opportunities for competency-based credit that aligns directly with employment needs.
Collaborates with the Asst Dean of Liberal Arts to ensure transfer for students in Fields of Interest and Transfer Studies have direction in terms of their completion goals
Coordinate and manage the college’s Regional Higher Education Center
Serves on other college-wide committees, taskforces and workgroups and completes other special projects and duties as assigned.
A Master's degree is required.
A minimum of five years of related experience in transfer, academic advising or other related area.
Knowledge of and experience with developing articulation agreements.
Knowledge of and experience working with diverse student populations and/or demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Excellent interpersonal communication, oral, and written skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and student information technology.
Demonstrated achievement in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse staff, faculty, and student body at a community college
Active participation in higher education accreditation processes, articulation processes, and program review.
Experience working at a community college and/or with community college students.
Experience in the use of statistical data and qualitative research methods.
