The Assistant Director for Accounting reviews and analyzes general ledger accounts; prepares and analyzes fiscal and financial reports and reconciliations; recommends and implements accounting policies; manages all aspects of the Accounts Payable function including the supervision of two full-time Accounting Associates and one part-time Accounting Assistant; manages all aspects of accounting for Fixed Assets; manages capital and agency funds; develops and conducts training on financial systems; and assists in special projects or other areas where assigned.

Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting training on Finance ERP system and advising College constituents on finance-related matters; reviewing and approving A/P direct payment vouchers; periodic reconciliation of subsystem figures to general ledger; managing non-sufficient fund transactions; working with College project directors to establish, monitor and review capital project and agency budgets; and producing access databases and spreadsheets to query and interpret data. Fixed Asset accounting responsibilities include maintaining an updated inventory of fixed assets, accounting for purchases and disposals in accordance with GAAP and the College’s capitalization policy. In addition, the Assistant Director will assist with annual financial statement preparation and year-end financial audits; preparing reports to external agencies, and perform other duties as assigned.
This position serves as the secondary Banner ERP Functional Expert. This responsibility includes assisting with module update communication, testing and implementation, troubleshooting issues and assisting the Primary Expert in areas when needed.
This is an exempt, professional staff position reporting to the Director for Finance.
