The University:Western Michigan University, a learner centered, discovery driven and globally engaged public research university, enrolls more than 23,000 students from 100 nations around the globe. WMU has been designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as one of just 147 public institutions in the nation with high or very high research activity.

The College:The College of Health and Human Services is located in a new 195,000 square foot building with state-of-the-art teaching technologies and spacious research laboratories. The college enrolls almost 3,000 students, with more than a third of those at the graduate level. In addition to the WMU Bronson School of Nursing, the college includes programs in blindness and low vision studies, occupational therapy, physician assistant, social work, speech, language and hearing sciences, holistic health care, alcohol and drug abuse, interdisciplinary health services, public health, and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary health sciences. In addition, the college expects to offer a doctor of physical therapy beginning in 2019. The college has received a number of grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the Department of Education. The School:The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is a vibrant school that focuses on the scholarship of teaching, research, and service. In addition to the Director of the Bronson School of Nursing, over 23 full-time faculty and 25 part-time faculty provide instruction and experiences for prelicensure, Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) students. The total enrollment includes approximately 390 undergraduate students and a small cohort of MSN students. The NCLEX pass rate range from 95.2-98.8 over the past 2 years. The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is granted full approval by the Michigan Board of Nursing. The undergraduate and graduate programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The WMU Bronson School of Nursing is one of the few nursing schools to receive endorsement from the American Holistic Nursing Certification Corporation.
