Coordinates the activities and office support services in areas such as class scheduling, registration and payroll documentation in the Continuing Education (CE) Office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides assistance with the activities and office support services in areas such as class scheduling, registration, and payroll documentation. Gathers data and generates reports related to Coordinating Board certifications and reimbursements. Assists with the student registration process via site scheduling, tuition processing, and distribution/correction of class rolls. Assists with the completion of special projects in order to achieve prescribed goals. Works in collaboration with internal staff members and external vendors in the design, presentation, distribution, and timelines for course schedules and other written promotional materials. Responsible for the preparation of web-based schedule materials. Provides cost analyses as requested. Responsible for the coordination of room assignments, course input/set-up, media/textbook requirements, off-site locations, and concurrent enrollment in programs and/or special student populations. Provides cost analyses as requested and manages the departmental budget with the allocation of expenses. Proven oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with varying levels of DCCCD staff, students and vendors from diverse backgrounds. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills / Additional Requirements:
Applicants who have experience in areas such as registration, scheduling classes / course building, working with multiple coordinators on a daily basis, strong customer service skills, excellent typing, working with MS word and excel are encouraged to apply. This job requires long hours of sitting, ability to handle a huge volume of incoming phone calls as well as various peak periods of face to face with students and on campus customers.
Some evening and weekend hours required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of the continuing education programs offered at DCCCD. Ability to interpret policies and procedures in accordance with standards, policies and guidelines of the CE accrediting agencies. Ability to perform independently and without supervision all of the essential duties of the position with efficiency and effectiveness with only general supervision. Adhere to District policy and procedures. The ability to build solid working relationships and work in a diverse environment with faculty, students and colleagues. Good organizational and computer skills, record keeping and general office skills. Ability to establish priorities for coordinating various continuing education programs. Make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization. Advanced knowledge of computer applications including mainframe, spreadsheet, text manipulation and report generation. The ability to manage multiple priorities, and the willingness to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population of faculty, students and staff.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
High school graduate or GED equivalent plus two (2) years of work related experience. ***Will be subject to a criminal background check. Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.***
