Director, Nursing and Emergency Medical Services
Pensacola State College

The Director, Nursing and Emergency Medical Services position is a 12-month administrative position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2017.  

The Director will manage day-to-day operations of the department, supervise all programs offered by the department, develop course schedules, make faculty course assignments, supervise and evaluate department faculty and staff, manage the departmental budget, advise students, review and update departmental curricula, hire and supervise adjunct faculty, work toward the resolution of student complaints, lead the process to pursue or maintain the accreditation of programs, serve on College committees, oversee planning and assessment activities, and perform other duties as assigned. The Director will also represent the College as a member of organizations at the local, state, and national level and will facilitate collaborations with the local healthcare community. This position reports to the Dean, Warrington Campus. 


Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in Nursing and four years related full-time teaching or administrative experience required. Completion of a doctoral degree in nursing required within three years. Successful results of a criminal background check and drug screen are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer administrative work experience within an academic setting; experience in curriculum development and evaluation; and experience with national accreditation requirements.

ANNUAL RANGE:

$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. However, the college does not generally hire at the top of the range.)
