Description/Job Summary

This position is responsible for:

Establishing an effective contract and grant management system to monitor compliance with fiscal reporting requirements as established by Federal and State law, agency regulations, donors and sponsors, policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles for all sponsored projects and grants awarded.  

The Senior Grants Accountant reports to the Grants Manager.  


Performing grant related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis;

Periodic invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, and associated communications with customers;

Reconciliationing and re-budgeting which may include grant close out functions;

Producing financial status reports, monthly expenditure reports, monthly and final invoices, purchase order liquidations, zeroing out budgets and final reporting;

Reviewing general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and complete journal entries.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field;
  • Four (4) years' of work experience in Accounting and Financial Operations management;
  • Two (2) years' of grant accounting experience.
