Dean of Business and Information Management
Neumann University, a Catholic co-educational university in the Franciscan tradition, seeks a dedicated new Dean of Business and Information to lead an ACBSP-accredited academic division. The new Dean will work with the VPAA and faculty to create a vision and direction for the Division of Business and Information Management, lead the faculty in innovation and program development, drive recruitment and retention, enhance relationships with the regional business community, promote the integration of teaching and learning technologies, and cultivate financial support.
Founded in 1965 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia as Our Lady of Angels College, the University today serves more than 3,000 students, both women and men, and provides a comprehensive program of rigorous, relevant, academic curricula. Neumann now fields nineteen NCAA Division III athletic teams, is home to nine arts groups, and has three residence halls that accommodate more than 770 students. Neumann University is proud to be accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean provides overall leadership for the Division; serves as a resource for the University's students, parents, and faculty; develops academic policies, programs, and curriculum; coordinates student recruitment and activities; and serves as the public voice of the Division.
As an administrator with faculty rank the Dean advances the Catholic identity and Franciscan mission of the University, contributes both academic and administrative leadership, and provides the first level of review for matters within the Division of Business and Information Management. The Dean will work with a faculty of teaching professionals as well as the divisionís academic advisors. Neumann University does not offer tenure and we are especially interested in hearing from faculty and administrators who have served at, and are familiar with, institutions with continuing contract systems.
The Division of Business and Information Management, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems and Sport Management. Master of Science degrees in Sport and Entertainment Management as well as in Accounting (with an emphasis on fraud prevention and forensic accountancy) are also offered.
The new Dean will be an experienced and successful academic with a collegial management style, a strong work ethic, a passion for education in both traditional and non-traditional settings, an entrepreneurial spirit, an understanding of and commitment to the assessment of learning outcomes, and congruence with the mission and identity of a Catholic institution of higher education.
Successful candidates should hold an appropriate terminal degree (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and be eligible for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor.
