Palliative Medicine Physician

This is a great opportunity for a Palliative Medicine Physician and/or Geriatrician who is board certified in their primary specialty and interested in in an Academic Teaching Hospital and working within an interdisciplinary palliative medicine consultation team that has established formalized clinical outreach programs in intensive care units and palliative medicine clinics in the expanding Cancer Center and the Geriatrics clinic.
The Section of Palliative Medicine is in the Geriatric Division of the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center.
The section of Palliative Medicine serves patients and families with life limiting and life threatening illnesses and is dedicated to excellence in pain and symptom management, goals of care discussion, education and research
The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in Palliative Medicine and/ or Geriatric Medicine.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to have an outpatient palliative medicine clinic and will be a faculty member for a physician palliative medicine fellowship, Geriatric Fellowship and resident physicians during their palliative medicine rotation and a multidisciplinary Palliative Care Education Program in the School of Nursing at Rush University. Qualifications include board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Medical Specialties in Palliative Medicine.
In addition, strong background and skills in clinical practice, interdisciplinary teamwork and clinical teaching, are essential.
Clinical teaching is required.
