Head, Education Library
Reporting to Head of Social Sciences, provide leadership for Indiana University Bloomington Libraries in development, delivery, assessment of library services as well as pursuing partnerships and opportunities to create meaningful co-curricular experiences for students on a residential campus; provide all necessary library support for and serve as liaison to all departments in School of Education, which will include but is not limited to development of new programs, support for research and publishing, support for teaching, support for grant funding, and collection development; will join the Social Sciences department which is comprised of Head of Social Sciences, Head of Business and School of Public and Environmental Affairs Information Commons, Government Documents Librarian, GIS Librarian, Business Instruction Librarian, 1 professional staff, 5-6 support staff, and a team of temporary hourly staff in delivering library Social Sciences services across the campus.†
Responsibilities: Lead IU Librariesí services for the School of Education including workshops and programming for graduate students and pre-service teachers, course-integrated information literacy instruction, and support for research; should be capable of developing library services, collections, and spaces that support student learning and research including: provision of services including supporting engagement of campus partners and delivery of student-focused services in the space; provide support for and help faculty meet their needs for open access publishing, data management, bibliographic citation management tools, and general and discipline-specific reference service; develop appropriate web-based resources and for the librariesí web site and university-wide learning management system, specifically Libguides.†

ALA-accredited Masterís degree or advanced degree in relevant field; minimum of two years of experience in a research library setting; demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team of professional consultants for teaching and learning; teaching experience and demonstrated knowledge of learning and educational theories, instructional design, pedagogy, and assessment principles for effective information literacy instruction; ability to meet requirements of tenure-track librarian position.
Supervisory experience; experience using education and curriculum resources; collection development, reference, and instruction experience in an academic setting; additional graduate degree in a relevant discipline.
