The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- Master’s degree or higher in rehabilitation counseling from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent; OR
- Master’s degree or higher in special education from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent, AND a minimum of 24 upper division or graduate semester units in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, or social work; OR
- Master’s degree or higher in counseling, guidance, student personnel, psychology, career development, or social welfare from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent, AND a minimum of 12 upper division or graduate semester units in the counseling or rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, OR two (2) years accumulated full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following: A) Counseling or guidance for students with disabilities, or B) Counseling and/or guidance in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities.
Please note: Candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must answer all the Equivalency questions on their application in addition to all other required materials. Part-time, temporary, hourly assignments are on an as needed basis.
