Pensacola State College is located on Florida’s beautiful Gulf Coast. The Human Resources Office is accepting applications for the following administrative position in the Office of Institutional Diversity:


The Director, Institutional Diversity position is a full-time professional/managerial position. The successful candidate will serve as the College’s chief equity officer, provide leadership and technical expertise on issues pertaining to diversity, affirmative action, equal access/equal opportunity (EA/EO) compliance, the Florida Educational Equity Act, and the implementation of various equity initiatives and programs. Additionally, the Director, Institutional Diversity will provide training and professional development workshops; recommend policies and procedures that impact matters associated with enhancing the diversity of the college’s workforce; assist in faculty and staff recruitment of minority applicants and employees; assist in the development of methods and strategies designed to recruit and retain minority students; investigate complaints of discrimination and harassment in violation of the College’s policy of non-discrimination; and prepare and present the annual equity report. This position reports to the Executive Director, Institutional Diversity and Student Conduct in coordination with the College President. PENDING BOARD APPROVAL.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree and three years of appropriate full-time administrative/educational experience or a bachelor’s degree with five years full-time administrative/educational experience. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience in higher education administration or legal experience.

SALARY RANGE: $36,040.00 - $56,000.00 (Depending on the qualifications, the salary is negotiable. )

FRINGE BENEFITS: The value of the benefits package provided by the College is nearly 39% of the base salary and includes major medical insurance, life insurance and Florida retirement contributions. Supplemental life, dental, vision, and disability insurance are available at group rates. Other benefits offered include participation in the wellness program, tuition waivers, educational opportunities, and paid sick and annual leave.
