Founded in 1947, Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is a comprehensive, urban institution accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The College’s campus is located in West Baltimore; the institution also has several satellite locations throughout the city. With its broad range of degree and certificate programs, affordable tuition, and extensive outreach, BCCC offers educational opportunities to the citizens of Baltimore City and throughout the state of Maryland. The position manages a recruitment territory by contacting, visiting, and informing prospective students about BCCC programs, culture, mission, and life on campus. The position assures that enrollment goals are met regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students.
Employees is this class represent the College to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals and organizations involved in the college selection process. An employee in this class plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories, advises prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the College and provides one-on-one admissions advising to a diverse population of potential students.
Knowledge of college admission guidelines, standards, and procedures, and higher education recruitment in general; knowledge of various financial aid programs, including application deadlines and regulations; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to plan and implement recruitment events in an organized and efficient manner; ability to exercise critical human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with college faculty,
staff, administration, students, and members of the community and the public.
Must be proficient with all forms of technology. The ideal candidate will possess positive energy, exceptional communication skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for the community college mission.
