The Associate Vice President for Administration, reporting to the Vice President for Finance & Administration (VPFA), and potentially overseeing various departments as the “number two” person, is responsible for identifying, managing, and resolving special projects in the Finance and Administration Division. This position plays an administrative role, a highly strategic and facilitative one that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to plan an active, behind-the-scenes role for the Division. This position is responsible for identifying, managing, and resolving special projects as the de facto “number two” person and “Chief of Staff” in the Finance and Administration Division.
The Associate VP of Administration will assist in providing administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Administration and Finance Department, including the Human Resources Unit, Facilities, Public Safety, Procurement, Auxiliary Services and the coordination of assigned activities with other College divisions, departments, external agencies, and the public. This position may represent the VP of Administration and Finance and/or the Division at meetings either within the College of with external officials. The Assoc. VP for Administration has a leadership role along with the VP of Administration and Finance in the implementation of the College’s integrated plan for the operation and improvement of the college, leveraging shared governance.
