Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Plant Pathology With Experience in Winegrape Pests and Diseases
The Departments of Horticulture & Crop Science and Wine & Viticulture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, CA seeks applications for a full-time academic year, tenure-track assistant, associate or full professor to teach courses related to plant pathology. The candidate should have expertise in viticulture disease identification, as well as an extensive background in general plant pathology. Starting date is negotiable, but on or before September 13, 2018 is preferred.

The candidate must have a strong interest and commitment to teaching and working with students of different cultural backgrounds. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses that involve plant pathology, grapevine diseases, and plant disease management.
A Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Plant Pathology, or related field from an accredited institution, along with a strong background in grapevine vector/pathogen/host interactions. Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues across departments and disciplines, and to develop a collaborative research program. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching, effective communication, and a commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The ability to be a productive team player and to interact well with peers, students, government agencies and the general public is essential.
