COORDINATOR, CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION STUDENT RESOURCES - JOB #2592
The Coordinator, Career and Technical Education Student Resources (CTE) is a 12-month professional position. The Coordinator is responsible for data collection related to student attainment of industry certifications; will coordinate all job placement services to include cooperative education, internship, follow-up services, and job placement; and provide point of contact and technical assistance in scheduling job fairs and employer specific hiring events. Additionally, the Coordinator will participate in program advisory meetings and cultivate relationships with advisory business partners to promote student placement; provide soft skill, job interviewing, and resume writing training to students through in-class presentations, and through other workshops, seminars, and online tools; maintain student employment website with updates and accurate information; solicit business participation to expand the open positions listed on the site; and identify, recruit, counsel, select, and provide orientations for students applying for job placement and cooperative education. This position reports to the Director, Career and Technical Education Student Resources. This is a grant funded position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, business, or related field required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in education, counseling, business, or related field; experience in workforce development, staffing, and employment; documented public speaking experience; demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrated ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite (Word, Publisher, Excel, and Outlook).
