Associate Research Scientist
Mechanical Engineering Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University is seeking to hire an Associate Research Scientist.
The incumbent will join a multidisciplinary team performing research on the use of energy resources, internet of things as applied to building systems, electrical engineering for power measurements, and data analysis.
The incumbent will perform the role of selecting sensors, understanding deployment requirements, select measurement points and install sensors.
The incumbent will produce the required indicators, assist in automation of data cleaning and help with software developers, in preparation of new unsupervised learning algorithms and assist in summarization of the findings of analysis through visualizations, presentations, and reports.
The incumbent is expected to have significant experience with energy resources, data analytics, and internet of things.
Finally, the incumbent is expected to work closely with other team members.
The incumbent will report directly to Professor Vijay Modi.
Minimum Degree Required: Ph.D.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years experience in sustainability energy systems.
