Director, Office of Professional and Community Development
D'Youville College

D'Youville seeks candidates who will be able to provide vision, dynamic entrepreneurial leadership, and professional management for Office of Professional and Community Development. The Director is part of the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness team and serves as the chief administrative officer and spokesperson of the Office of Professional and Community Development. To this end, the Director is a vital link between the College and community leaders to identify and support emerging workforce needs within WNY, as well as within the global market place. Thus, the Director represents the college and assists in developing partnerships with regional and international entities and initiatives; and coordinates the development and evaluation of instructional program offerings and student support systems.

The Director works closely and collaboratively with Dean of Online Learning and Director of Institute of Teaching Innovations, and D'Youville College faculty and staff. The Director is a College administrative officer and performs these and other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning and the President.

Job Requirements


Identify professional and community development needs Consult with professional and community development committees and various departments to identify professional development needs. Collaborate in setting professional development priorities and in designing and directing professional development programs for the local and global community. Collaborate in setting community development priorities especially with the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Planning and the President. Establish work plans and execute objectives as derived. Develop a comprehensive communications plan to engage campus constituencies in professional development activities. Research, coordinate, develop and design instructor-led in-person and virtual learning offerings. Modify and continuously improve program materials in response to feedback, assessment and strategic planning. Develop annual calendar of professional development events and programs and ensure updating of all internal communications platforms and products as detailed in the communications plan.


Budget preparation and control. Effective visual, written, verbal, inquiry, and deep listening skills. Political acumen and interpersonal skills Professional ability to work with a variety of constituents both internal and external to The College. Professional oral and written communication skills. Effective training practices and adult learning approaches and methodologies. Evaluation and assessment methods and grant writing. Knowledge of the Western New York marketplace. Knowledge of trends and challenges in Higher Education and international learning.
