Applications are invited for a nine-month, full time, non-tenure track teaching position, beginning fall of 2018. Responsibilities involve undergraduate teaching in General (first year) and/or Organic (second year) chemistry courses. Responsibilities also include ongoing course development, lecture support, student advising, and other departmental service. These are benefited 2-year positions and renewable contingent upon performance. Lecturers at the University of Massachusetts are unionized with the potential for long-term careers with promotional advancement.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field, evidence of excellence in teaching, and the ability to work with diverse populations/students. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching large lecture sections using state of the art teaching technologies and pedagogies, and will have a significant interest in contributing to our department's history of developing cutting edge approaches to chemical education.
