Faculty Position in Computer Engineering
The Lane Department of Computer Science and Electri¬cal Engineering (LDCSEE) at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications and nominations for a tenure track faculty position in the field of Computer Engineering at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The Statler College has eight academic departments, over 4,700 students, and 140 faculty members, with approximately $25M in annual external research expenditures. It is nationally recognized for high quality teaching and research, as well as for its excellent faculty and students. The Lane Depart¬ment has 35 tenure-track fac¬ulty members, 470 undergraduate students, 150 MS students, and 75 Ph.D. students. It offers degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer¬ing, Biometric Systems, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering.
WVU is the State comprehensive Land Grant University with a main campus enrollment of approximately 29,000 students and a Carnegie Classification -R1: Doctoral Universities Highest Research Activity. Morgantown metro area has a population of about 137,000 residents with Morgantown itself at approximately 31,000. It is ranked among the most livable small cities in the country. The community lies within a high technology corridor that also includes several federal research facilities, such as the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory, NASA's Independent Verification and Validation Facility (IV&V), the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the FBI, as well as private industry. The city is located within reasonable driving distances from Pittsburgh, PA and Washington, DC.
